Our Equipment

The equipment we use assures both efficiency in logging and safety for our operators. Following are the descriptions of some of the machines we use in our work:

The buncher is the first machine to show up in the woods. The bunchers function is to carefully and strategically fall the timber without damaging standing timber. The buncher is on a track mounted carrier which reduces soil compaction. The buncher utilizes a hydraulic cab making it more efficient and capable of adjusting to the slope of the ground. The buncher has a grappling device at the end of its boom used to hold the tree while a circular hot saw cuts the tree and then the tree is carefully laid down.

The grapple cat yards or pulls the trees to the landing once they have been fell. The grapple cat is also track mounted to increase traction, reduce soil compaction and again uses grapples to grab the trees and yard them to the landing.
The rubber tired skidder is another option for yarding trees to the landing. The skidder has rubber tires, a grapple in the rear for grabbing the tree, and is more efficient for yarding long distances.
The dangle head processor is used on the landing to manufacture logs once the trees have been yarded. The machine is track mounted and utilizes a dangle head processor, which precisely measures, limbs, and cuts the trees to maximize the volume of that tree.
The shovel log loader is a track mounted machine capable of reaching thirty feet using grapples to pick up trees/logs and swing in three hundred sixty degrees to sort and stake. The shovel log loader is used for sorting, stacking, and loading logs on the log truck. The shovel log loader is also a very efficient way of yarding or swinging trees to the landing to be manufactured into logs.
The log truck hauls approximately 4000 mbf or 28 tons of logs to the mill.
The dump truck is used for hauling dirt, rock, or debris on or off highway. They’re capable of hauling approximately ten yards.
The excavator is a very versatile machine used for multiple tasks. The excavator is track mounted and can swing in three hundred sixty degrees with a boom that has multiple attachments such as a variety of buckets, a thumb used for grabbing, a brush mower, and more. Used for digging, grubbing, piling, loading different material.
The road grader is used for shaping roads so that they have a smooth running surface and that water is dispersed to the ditches. The road grader utilizes a twelve foot blade capable of moving in multiple directions to the adequate grade.
