Our Equipment
At Bekkevar Logging & Trucking, we utilize a wide range of top-of-the-line equipment to ensure that every logging, land development, and road construction project is executed with the utmost precision, safety, and efficiency. Below are descriptions of the key machines and equipment we use in our operations:
Buncher
The buncher is the first machine to arrive on-site. Its purpose is to carefully fell trees while minimizing damage to surrounding timber. Mounted on a track carrier, the buncher helps reduce soil compaction and adjusts easily to varying ground slopes. Equipped with a grappling device, it grabs and holds the tree while a circular hot saw makes precise cuts, gently laying the tree down.
Grapple Cat
Once the trees are felled, the grapple cat is used to haul logs from the felling site to the landing. This track-mounted machine uses grapples to secure the logs and efficiently drag them, reducing soil compaction while offering excellent traction.
Skidder
The rubber-tired skidder is ideal for hauling logs over longer distances. It features rubber tires and a rear-mounted grapple for securing trees. Its flexibility and speed make it perfect for extensive logging operations, even across uneven or rugged terrain.
Harvester
The harvester is an all-terrain, high-efficiency timber harvester that can fell, limb, and buck trees with speed and precision. Equipped with a powerful cutting head, it grabs and processes trees efficiently, maximizing timber yield and minimizing environmental impact.
Forwarder
After the trees have been processed, the forwarder transports logs from the woods to the landing. This heavy-duty machine is equipped with large-capacity log bunks and hydraulic cranes for easy handling, allowing it to transport logs over rugged terrain while minimizing soil disturbance.
Dangle Head Processor
The dangle head processor is used on the landing to manufacture logs once they have been yarded. With a dangle head processor, it can precisely measure, limb, and cut trees, ensuring maximum efficiency in processing while optimizing timber value.
Shovel Log Loader
The shovel log loader is a track-mounted machine capable of reaching up to 40 feet. It uses grapples to grab logs and swing them in a 360-degree arc for sorting, stacking, and loading them onto trucks. The shovel loader is also ideal for yarding trees to the landing.
Log Truck
Our log trucks can haul up to 4000 MBF (thousand board feet) or 30 tons of logs to the mill. These heavy-duty trucks are built to transport logs efficiently, ensuring smooth delivery to the mill without delays.
Dump Truck
The dump truck is used for hauling dirt, rock, or debris on or off-road. It has a ten-yard capacity and is essential for land clearing, road building, and site preparation, ensuring smooth operations on all projects.
Excavator
The excavator is a versatile, track-mounted machine used for a variety of tasks, including digging, grubbing, piling, and loading materials. With multiple attachments such as buckets, a thumb, and a brush mower, it can handle a wide range of site preparation jobs.
Road Grader
The road grader is essential for creating smooth, level surfaces for roads. Equipped with a 12-foot blade, it can adjust the grade in multiple directions to ensure proper water drainage and a smooth running surface for construction or logging roads.
Rock Crusher
The rock crusher is used to crush large rocks and other materials into smaller, usable aggregates for construction and road building. It plays an essential role in creating the materials necessary for infrastructure projects and land development.
Ecoforest 30.1 T-Winch
The Ecoforest 30.1 T-Winch is a powerful hydraulic winch used in logging operations to assist with tree extraction and yarding. Mounted on a skidder or tracked vehicle, it provides additional pulling capacity, making it ideal for working on steep or difficult terrain. The winch helps minimize soil disturbance while enhancing the efficiency of the extraction process.
Cable Logging Towers
For challenging terrains where traditional logging methods are impractical, cable logging towers provide a reliable solution. At Bekkevar Logging & Trucking, we use two powerful cable logging towers: the Skagit 737 and the Madill 071, both designed to safely and efficiently extract timber from remote or steep areas.
Skagit 737 Tower
The Skagit 737 is a highly versatile, self-propelled cable logging tower that can be used for a wide range of applications, including skyline logging and high-lead logging. Equipped with powerful cable systems, the 737 is capable of moving logs over steep terrain with minimal soil disturbance. Its advanced rigging options and precise control systems allow for safe and efficient log extraction, even in the most challenging environments.
Madill 071 Tower
The Madill 071 is a robust and reliable cable logging tower known for its strength and versatility. Often used in remote locations with difficult access, the Madill 071 can handle heavy-duty logging jobs with ease. Its high-line system ensures that logs are safely extracted from steep slopes or rugged terrain, providing a high-efficiency solution for cable logging operations.
